BROWNFIELD IKEBANA postcards

by Anna Francis

series of 3
Abattoir, 2012
ABC Cinema, 2012
Greyhound Track, 2012

Each postcard, printed on 260gsm glossy fronted, matt backed card, measures 15cm x 10cm.

Anna's work often responds to gaps and glitches in public life, seeing these as opportunities to intervene, suggesting temporary solutions, which can, if others have the will, become permanent.

Using Japanese Flower Arranging structures, the 'Brownfield Ikebana' series seeks to reimagine urban brownfield as abundant nature haven, where weeds and rubbish are transformed into exotic flowers and vessels in a floral display.
