The new Print Resource at AirSpace Gallery offers a range of analogue print services, including etching press and Adana letter-press, open to the Public for hire. We will also be hosting a series Print workshops, delivered by print professionals and artists throughout the year.
Following the success of Workshop #1 - an introduction to etching press with Nick Morley, here we continue our introductory sessions with a Letterpress Workshop delivered by Elizabeth Willow
Introduction to letterpress printing on an Adana Press
with Elizabeth Willow
In this afternoon workshop, Elizabeth will introduce you to letterpressing - an exciting, tactile printing process combining traditional techniques and contemporary practice. You will learn to set metal type and print using Adana table-top presses, experimenting with layers and colours to create your own individual greetings cards.
The workshop is aimed at beginners, and you will take home a collection of cards (seasonal or otherwise!).
The cost of the workshop is £40 for the four hour session
, and will include all materials (paper, inks etc) and refreshments. To book your place, please click here
***All materials are provided, but participants should bring an apron, wear sturdy shoes, and also have a couple of words to work with (each word between 2 and 10 letters, and festive, frivolous, ferocious or friendly: anything you wish).***
Elizabeth is a fine artist who uses letterpress in her artist’s books. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, and is held in numerous collections, including The Bodleian Library and Tate Britain. She has taught and demonstrated letterpress and book arts widely in museums, libraries and print centres.
