Film Club

At AirSpace we think of the public programme as a Neighbourhood – a space that combines the public and private – the space between us and what happens here, by exchanging, socialising and learning from other artists' practices.

Gallery as Community.

One of the best definitions of cultural production is perhaps that of ‘making things public’: the process of connecting things, establishing relationships, which in many ways means befriending issues, people, contexts. (Celine Condorelli)

FILM CLUB is concerned with creating space, by sharing work that utilises, or relates to, moving image. In supports of AirSpace's commitment to demystify artistic practice, we invite artists to share approaches to their practice and how moving image has informed their way of thinking.

As a part of this Neighbourhood, led by artist Rebecca Davies, every second month we will invite an artist/designer/researcher to ‘guest curate’ our Film Club, to open up a discussion space in an informal and supportive forum, looking at a range of themes including -

· Public / Private space
· Co-opted space
· Inhabitants / Communities of space
· Architectural / Built space
· Other realities / Alternate space
